Conservationists Team Up to Protect Sierra Wild Lands North of Historic Donner Pass

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Three conservation groups announced today that they are teaming up to protect the iconic natural landscape north of Donner Pass for wildlife and low impact recreation. The Trust for Public Land, the Truckee Donner Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy – working together as part of the Northern Sierra Partnership – are under contract to purchase 2,914 acres in the upper watershed of the Truckee River by the end of February 2020, including Frog Lake, Red Mountain and the ridges north and south of Carpenter Valley.
