Your Planned Gift Builds a Legacy of Conservation

Black Wall, one of the many beautiful places protected thanks to your support

What is planned giving? It’s a term that nonprofit organizations use to reference specific gift types that can be funded with cash, equity, or property. These gift vehicles are usually based on United States tax law. Planned giving is an excellent way to support the Truckee Donner Land Trust, but the number of options and tax implications can be challenging to navigate.

The Land Trust now has helpful tools to guide your philanthropic decisions around planned giving, estate planning, IRA rollovers, gifts of real estate and more. Calculators, educational materials, and regular updates on tax rules and new opportunities are available to help you plan and maximize your impact on the work of the Land Trust.

A segment of the Land Trust’s donors will begin receiving a monthly e-newsletter all about planned giving in mid-January 2022, separate from the usual e-blasts you receive from us. You’ll enjoy brief updates about how planned giving supports the Land Trust’s work, as well as short articles on personal planning, savvy living, Washington news, donor stories, finances, and more.

Want to make sure you receive the Truckee Donner Land Trust’s monthly planned giving e-newsletter beginning in January? Please sign up here.

After signing up, you can always unsubscribe, or contact us to request more pertinent information for your planned giving needs.

In the meantime, you can make the most of your year-end support for the Land Trust’s mission. Year-end giving can be as easy as:

-       Transferring stock or making an IRA charitable distribution to the Land Trust.

-       Initiating a gift to the Land Trust through your Donor Advised Fund (DAF).

-       Setting up a monthly recurring gift to the Land Trust with your credit card.

-       Making an annual gift to the Land Trust.
